The British Chiropractic Association (BCA)
The British Chiropractic Association (BCA) is the largest and longest established association for chiropractors in the UK.
Dr Jonathan Wilson (chiropractor) has been an active member of the BCA since graduating many years ago. The BCA is a support organisation which seeks to maintain a high standard of practice for chiropractors who are members.
The BCA ensures that its members continue with a high level of ongoing education and requires members to maintain a high standard of personal and profession ethics.
The BCA is the premier organisation for chiropractors in the UK and is often seen as the ‘Public Voice’ of chiropractic. As the General Chiropractic Council sees itself as a regulatory body rather than a promotional body, the BCA has undertaken the role of promoting the profession and its members to the public.

The PPQM is a highly sought after award that is presented to individual practices by the College of Chiropractors after an extensive and detailed consultation process. Practices must demonstrate that the needs and objectives of the clients are considered paramount and where client care and expectations are met and exceeded.
Successful practices must demonstrate that they provide a service which is significantly superior to that which is expected and provide safe and effective care. The award of the Patient Partnership Quality Mark is an industry award that recognises the commitment that Inspired Chiropractic has demonstrated to meeting and exceeding these client expectations. It also demonstrates that this practice consistently strives to improve its level of service and documents feedback from clients.
Dr Jonathan Wilson (chiropractor) is an active member of the College of Chiropractors and is delighted to have received this prestigious award.
The College of Chiropractors
The College of Chiropractors is an academic membership organisation with over 2200 members and the following objectives:
- to promote the art, science and practice of chiropractic
- to improve and maintain standards in the practice of chiropractic for the benefit of the public
- to promote awareness and understanding of chiropractic amongst medical practitioners, other healthcare professionals and the public
- to educate and train practitioners in the art, science and practice of chiropractic
- to advance the study of and research in chiropractic
Members and Fellows of the College have always embraced postgraduate training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in the public interest, pre-empting any statutory requirement. Since its incorporation in 1999, the College has worked with an eminent Advisory Board which supports the College in its aim to achieve a Royal Charter to signal the importance of chiropractic in complementing the mainstream healthcare professions, and to provide impetus to build an integrated chiropractic service around patients.
The College actively fosters patient and public involvement through its Lay Partnership Group and via patient representation on its governing Council.

The General Chiropractic Council
The General Chiropractic Council (GCC) is an independent body which was created after an act of Parliament that requires all chiropractors practicing in the United Kingdom to be registered. It has a variety of functions:
- To ensure that those persons who practice chiropractic in the United Kingdom are registered with the GCC.
- To ensure that registered Chiropractors have been highly trained at a recognised educational institution and are fit and competent to practice.
- To ensure that Chiropractors who are registered maintain ongoing education, professional insurance and professional accountability.
- To ensure that chiropractors adhere to a professional code of conduction (code of ethics) as set down by the GCC.
The GCC has a board of professionals who manage and direct the council. The board is made up of lay members, other professionals of good standing, from a variety of professions, and representative chiropractors. This balance is to ensure that the chiropractic profession operates to current professional standards that are in keeping with other professions in the United Kingdom, and to ensure that an objective perspective is given to the behaviour and conduct of the profession and individuals in the profession.
Dr Jonathan Wilson (chiropractor) is registered with the GCC, and is in good standing with the GCC and have been so continuously since its initiation.
