23rd March 2020 – Clinic Closure – All But the Most Urgent Cases

In the absence of advice, instruction, direction or orders from the government or General Chiropractic Council, we are following advice from the British Chiropractic ACV19 Picssociation to only see those who are in urgent need. The BCA have written, “It is now time to stop all routine, non-urgent consultations with our patients….”

There will be clients who may need to come because of the severity of their pain or psychological distress. (N.B. This must fulfil the spirit of the above statement as being an urgent need for care.) We CANNOT see anyone who has to self-isolate as a result of symptoms and if you suspect that you are infected, could be infected or have come into contact with someone who you suspect might be infected, please telephone us to reschedule. The risk of increased exposure to the public on your journey here, as well as being in the practice, must be weighed against the benefit of the chiropractic care.

If you feel that you fit into the above category and need to be seen, we have taken further steps to ensure that your visit to the office is as safe as possible.

• We will take your temperature on arrival.
• We ask everyone to observe social distancing as set out in government advice.
• There will be special appointment times in the week to limit contact with others and to meet the reduced demand for our service. These times will change day to day and week to week.
• Increased precautionary measures are being taken for these visits. Staff wear face masks and the chiropractor utilises mask and gloves.
• An adjusting room will be allocated immediately on arrival and you will not be required to enter reception. Please assist us in this matter by arriving promptly for your visit but not too early.
• Hand sanitiser will be provided for use before and after your adjustment
• All clients and staff will have a daily temperature reading to ensure a safe environment
• Thorough sanitation of the adjusting room will take place immediately prior to these visits.

In view of new guidelines we are asking you to contact the office by either email at reception@inspiredchiropractic.com or phone on 01603 764777 to let us know if you wish to continue with your appointment. It may be necessary to change your appointment day and time.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank my amazing team who, during a period of great uncertainty, have committed to providing a safe and supportive environment to our loyal clients.
We will continue to be in touch over the coming weeks. Please look after yourselves, your loved ones and your communities during this difficult time.

18th March 2020 – Rigorous New Procedures In Place

This CV19 event is going to be here for a while and we must make provision to look after ourselves and our health over what is likely to be an extended period. We are committed to looking after all our clients and are confident in the substantial protection measures that we have put in place. To allow us to meet these needs we are strictly adhering to new procedures.
Significant Steps to Protect You

We are rigorously following sanitation advice from Public Health England to ensure that your visit to our office is safe. The following precautions are now in place for all appointments.

• We are treating all visits in ‘isolation’ as far as possible and minimising your contact with others.
• Staff have face masks available and the chiropractor is utilising mask and gloves or hand sanitiser as required.
• We are aiming to allocate adjusting rooms on arrival. Please assist us in this matter by arriving promptly for your visit but not too early.
• Hand sanitiser is provided.
• All staff have a daily temperature reading to ensure our environment is safe.

Please don’t hesitate to let us know if we can assist you further. I would like to express my thanks to the entire team who are working tirelessly to support you and keep you safe during this time.

16th March 2020 – Our Priority Is Keeping You Safe

Since our last policy on the Corona Virus (CV19) much has changed throughout the world and it looks like we are going to be dealing with CV19 for several months.

In some ways Norfolk has had the advantage of seeing what is happening elsewhere in the UK and Europe and we would be wise to heed the Prime Minister’s advice of not getting too fatigued with CV19 measures early on.

Over the weekend the EDP has reported the first positive test for CV19 at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (N&N) and so increased vigilance is important. It is also important to remember that the effects of CV19 will continue in one way or another for many months. At Inspired Chiropractic we began precautionary measures 2 weeks ago. Since the beginning of the month we have undertaken the following changes:

  • Magazines and literature have been removed from reception and adjusting rooms
  • Anti-bacterial gel is available for use before and after every visit
  • Single use cups from the water machine have been removed and will be provided on request
  • Sign in pen is sanitized after every client
  • Hourly cleaning throughout the day has been undertaken with antibacterial products: door handles inside and out, bannisters, taps, toilet flush, chair arms, adjusting tables, communal surfaces
  • Antibacterial soap and hot water is available
  • Boxed tissues are available in reception and adjusting rooms
  • End of day sanitation procedures have been stepped up for adjusting rooms, reception and bathroom

In addition to the high standards already in place, we are taking further additional steps to ensure that your visit to the office is safe. From today we are employing the following additional measures:

  • We are now asking all clients with cold, cough and fever symptoms to self-isolate for 1 week. Please telephone the office and we will reschedule your visits. We will shortly be extending this policy to include those who have been advised to self-isolate because of symptoms in their household.
  • We are asking that if you have visited an area of high risk as identified on the government website to telephone us before your visit. We will reschedule your visit to a date that is 14 days or more from the date of your arrival back to the UK, provided you are fit and well.
  • We are introducing ‘special appointment times’ in the week that are reserved for vulnerable clients, with the aim of reducing their contact with others and using increased precautionary measures. During these visits staff will wear face masks and the chiropractor will utilise mask and gloves. Please note if your usual appointment is on this day, you will be offered alternative days and times. We thank you in advance for your understanding as we implement these measures to protect everyone.
  • All staff will have a daily temperature reading to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
  • The chiropractor will use a mask for all client visits in the near future.
  • Where possible we will be allocating adjusting rooms on arrival to reduce time spent in reception. Please assist us in this matter by arriving promptly for your visit but not too early.
  • Staff will be completing the arrival register on your behalf to minimise surface contact.
  • At the appropriate time all clients may be temperature checked before entering reception. Please do not be offended by this measure. It is for your benefit.
  • We will continue to employ deep cleaning sanitisation to ensure that infection risk is as low as possible.

We continue to monitor this situation daily, taking advice from the NHS, Public Health England and The World Health Organisation. Further changes will be implemented as dictated by the changing situation and we will always advise you as these changes become necessary. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and to thank colleagues who are working incredibly hard to protect the health and safety of everyone.

9th March 2020 – Corona Virus Update

Some people are a little concerned about the spread of the Corona virus. At present the government says that we are in the containment stage and has recommended that all that is necessary is good hand hygiene and regular hand washing.

We are closely monitoring the evolving situation and are in regular contact with health agencies for advice and guidance (www.gov.uk, www.chiropractic-uk.co.uk, www.nhs.uk and www.who.int). We will be implementing further changes as required by the changing situation and will advise you accordingly.

At the present time we have implemented the following preventative measures in line with recommendations from the above agencies.

  • Magazines and literature have been removed from reception and adjusting rooms
  • Clients are being offered antibacterial gel before and after every visit
  • Single use cups from the water machine have been removed and will be given to clients on request
  • Sign in pen sanitized after every client
  • Hourly cleaning throughout the day with antibacterial products: all door handles inside and out, bannisters, taps, toilet handle, chair arms, adjusting tables
  • Antibacterial soap and hot water available
  • Boxed tissues available in reception and all adjusting rooms
  • End of day sanitation procedures implemented for adjusting rooms, reception and bathroom

If you have any questions regarding our Coronavirus procedures, please do not hesitate to contact the team.
